Apple Peel Recipe for Weight Loss

Ingredients

  • Peels from 2 organic apples washed thoroughly
  • 1 cinnamon stick or 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 –3 whole cloves optional
  • 2 cups filtered water
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice optional
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup optional, to sweeten

Instructions

  • Wash and peel 2 organic apples. Set the peels aside and reserve the rest for another recipe or snack.
  • In a small saucepan, bring 2 cups of filtered water to a boil.
  • Add the apple peels, 1 cinnamon stick, and 2–3 whole cloves (optional) to the boiling water.
  • Reduce heat to low and let the mixture simmer gently for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Turn off the heat and strain the liquid using a fine mesh strainer.
  • Stir in 1 teaspoon of lemon juice while the tea is still warm. Add 1 teaspoon of honey or maple syrup if desired.
  • Pour into a glass mug and enjoy warm. Best served in the morning or between meals.
